Sven Ulreich extended until 2023 at FC Bayern!

In the past few weeks there has been a lot of speculation regarding Sven Ulreich and his sporting future. As of today, one thing is certain: the goalkeeper will also play for FC Bayern next season.

As the Munich announced on Saturday, Manuel Neuer’s backup has extended his expiring contract until the summer of 2023. After Thomas Müller, the goalkeeper is the second FCB player to extend his contract in Munich this week.

Board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic said: “We are happy that Sven will stay with FC Bayern for another year. With his character and his mentality, he fits perfectly into our group. Sven has an excellent understanding of his role and is always there when you need him.”

“FC Bayern has become like a family over the years”

The 33-year-old himself is looking forward to another year with the German record champions: “FC Bayern has become like a family over the years. I look forward to another year here. I enjoy the task behind a world goalkeeper like Manuel Neuer, we have a friendly, collegial relationship with each other.

Born in Schorndorf, he moved to FC Bayern in 2015, played for HSV for a season in between and has played 78 competitive games for FCB so far. The goalkeeper was German champion six times, won the cup three times and won the Champions League once with Bayern.
