Zurich – Inflation in Switzerland fell once more clearly in June. It is now below the two percent mark for the first time since January 2022. Specifically, annual inflation fell to 1.7 percent in June 2023, as the Federal Statistical Office (BFS) announced on Monday. In May it was still 2.2 percent. In the first two months, it rose to 3.4 percent due to higher electricity and flight prices, since then it has been falling steeply. The decline was as expected. The economists surveyed had estimated a value between 1.6 and 1.9 percent.
