The Swiss men’s team suffered as expected its 4th defeat in 4 matches in the European volleyball championship. Coach Mario Motta’s men lost 3-0 to Italy in Ancona, bravely defending their chances.
The Helvetians, who had scored their first point on Sunday against Estonia (3-2 defeat), were clearly dominated by the reigning world and European champions. Powerless in the 1st (25-19) and especially the 3rd set (25-15), Switzerland nevertheless offered a good resistance in the 2nd set (25-23).
