Swiss Tourists’ Precipice Misadventure: A Lesson in GPS Reliability in Granada, Spain

2023-08-10 08:18:48

This is the misadventure experienced by two Swiss tourists who blindly trusted their GPS to find themselves at the edge of a precipice with their van, two wheels in a vacuum.

On vacation in Granada, Spain, the couple of septuagenarians embarked on board their vehicle in a narrow path following the indications of their navigation system.

However, the path taken leads nowhere, except to a precipice, which GPS technology might not detect, according to what “20 Minutes” reported, citing local media.

Luckily, the driver of the vehicle realized the danger at the last minute and then braked sharply, while the two wheels on the left side of the van were in a vacuum.

The Spanish firefighters, however, managed to extract the vehicle partially suspended in the air, but the two tourists were not injured, even if they had the fear of their lives.
