Swisscom freezes subscription prices until end of 2024

The director of Swisscom announced on Sunday that the company has “decided to freeze the prices of subscriptions for private customers until December 31, 2024”.

Unlike Sunrise, which announced in early May that its subscription prices will be increased by 4% from 1is July, Swisscom “decided to freeze the prices of subscriptions for private customers until 31 December 2024”, despite the increase in (see box)said this Sunday, Christoph Aeschlimann, CEO of Swisscom, in the columns of the “Sunday newspaper» (article in German).

“This applies to current Blue Mobile offers, internet, TV and fixed network subscriptions, as well as to all secondary and third-party brands and customers with universal service products,” continues the director.

Swisscom expects to be able to offset the rising costs with strict savings. As for knowing what will happen from 2025, the future will tell. “We regularly review our product portfolio and our pricing. In the course of next year, we will analyze and determine what will happen after 2024”, concludes the director.

When asked how much the additional costs linked to the inflation amount to, Christoph Aeschlimann answers: “We are talking about around 50 million francs for this year. The drivers are wages, energy tariffs and the purchase prices of terminals and materials.”
