Kirby’s last appearance in his own franchise was in 2018 with Star Allies. A nice and very cute adventure game, intended for the youngest but of course playable by all. If the game was rather classic in its construction, this Kirby and the Forgotten World promises some major changes. Indeed, if you have played the demo you have been able to realize that the title is taking new paths. We start with a 3D progression in the levels, a bit like Mario, instead of 2.5D levels with left/right scrolling.
But that’s not all. In this title, Kirby inherits new powers by absorbing certain objects, such as orange studs, cars or even can dispensers. Many others will be discovered in the full game which will be released very soon. The goal of this Kirby and the Forgotten World is to discover the secrets of a vanished civilization. While saving his lifelong enemies: the Waddle Dees.
Moreover, another novelty of the game: the saved Waddle Dees will go to a village which will evolve according to their number. The more you save in each level, the more it will develop and you will have access to new features. But the game is of course intended to be accessible to all, which is why it will also be possible to involve a second player via a second joy-con. Navigating the world of Kirby will then be more fun and will allow you to give yourself a hand in case of a problem.
Finally, an online function makes it possible to consult the statistics at the world level of the number of Waddle Dees saved. And while waiting for the release of the game, you can consult these few screenshots that flatter the retina!
