Switzerland wants to look at the positive side of the Inflation Reduction Act

Led by the head of the State Secretariat for the Economy (Seco), Helene Budliger Artieda, and accompanied by representatives of the private sector, an economic mission will visit the United States from 12 to 17 December. Objective: to negotiate the participation of Swiss companies in the American investment and recovery plan of 370 billion dollars provided for by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). “This law may possibly have negative consequences for the Swiss economy,” says Seco in a written response to the Temps. Even if the implementation and consequences are not yet very clear, its protectionist elements as well as those of other American measures should be kept in mind.
