For the next Women’s Nations League games once morest Sweden and Spain, national coach Inka Grings has made only a few changes to the squad and is largely relying on the same players as last time together. Record player Ana Maria Crnogorcevic (Atlético Madrid) is part of the squad once more, as is Svenja Fölmli (SC Freiburg), who is on the way back to her old strength following tearing her cruciate ligament.

Crnogorcevic was missing recently, and the Nati star then spoke of a “lack of backing”. At the squad announcement, Grings said that she had recently visited Crnogorcevic. There was a need for clarification. «It was extremely important to reflect on ourselves. It was important to me personally to talk to her alone.”

After celebrating her national team debut in Spain, 16-year-old Noemi Ivelj (Grasshopper Club Zurich) is back in the squad. “She is a very interesting player whose flexibility in defense we would like to see once more,” explains Grings. (nih)
