Syed Abdel Hafeez, director of football at Al-Ahly Club of Egypt, revealed the latest developments in the club’s management negotiations with South African Pitso Mosimane, the team’s coach.

Abdel Hafeez said, in statements to his club’s official channel, “What I want to say and emphasize is that the audience is supportive and encouraging, and Musimani made achievements and championships, and with Al-Ahly won two championships for Africa and the Super, and he completed his contract until the end of the current season, and he succeeded by 95%.”

He added, “Whether there is continuity or not, and as usual with Al-Ahly coaches who did not succeed with him, they are honored and praised, let alone those who have achieved achievements like Musimani, if there is continuity, there will be more championships and achievements, and the renewal takes place in closed rooms between the management and the coach. .

Regarding the team’s contracts, he said, “It is possible that there will be 90% new contracts, and Aliou Diang has already received offers, but it does not fit his name and the name of Al-Ahly, and he is a young player with a wonderful future, and he plays in the largest club in Africa, and I see his next step in Europe.”

And Egyptian press reports revealed that Al-Ahly officials reached an agreement with Musimani’s agent to raise the value of his contract to 185,000 dollars per month instead of 140,000 dollars, which he was receiving before, with the value of the penalty clause in his contract reduced to only 3 months instead of 6 months. He is in the current contract, which expires at the end of the current season.

Al-Ahly is preparing to participate in the Club World Cup for the seventh time, and its best results are third place in 2006 and 2021.

Musimani’s contract with Al-Ahly ends at the end of the current season, spending two and a half seasons inside the Red Castle, amid ongoing negotiations for renewal between the two parties.

Musimani won two African Champions League titles with Al-Ahly, along with the Egyptian Cup, the Egyptian Super Cup, the two African Super Cup titles, and the third place in the Club World Cup.

Today, Sunday, Al-Ahly plays its last match in the Egyptian League Cup in its first edition against Al-Ahly Bank.

Al-Ahly was drawn in the second group, along with the Arab Contractors, Al-Ahly Bank, El-Gouna, Smouha and Ismaily teams.

Al-Ahly is in the last position with 3 points, which is the same balance as the National Bank, which has the penultimate position.

The duo lost their chance to reach the semi-finals of the competition.
