Synology DSM 7.2-64570 Update 1
After DSM 7.2-64561 and DSM 7.2-64570, Synology is back with a first major official update. If we look at the change logDSM 7.2-64570 Update 1 contains only 2 fixes:
Btrfs volumes might not be able to run volume optimization successfully; Disk replacement might not work correctly for SHR storage groups.
If you use the Btrfs file system and/or an SHR storage group, you will have understood it… this update is to be done.
Downloading and Installing DSM 7.2
As a reminder, DSM can automatically assess whether your Synology NAS needs this update. It’s like antibiotics, it’s not systematic… However, if you want to have the latest version DSM 7.2 Update 1, you will have to go through the official archive site and download the PAT file corresponding to your NAS. The file is around 25MB. Next, log into the DSM admin interface and then go to Control Panel > Update and Restore and click the button Manual update of DSM and to finish press the button Browse. Select the previously downloaded file and click the OK button. All you have to do is wait less than 10 minutes for the NAS to restart.
