Damascus/New York – After a blockade in the UN Security Council, Syria has allowed the United Nations to continue delivering humanitarian aid from Turkey to rebel-held areas of the civil war-torn country. “The government of the Syrian Arab Republic has taken the sovereign decision to grant the United Nations and its specialized agencies permission to use the Bab al-Hawa border crossing,” said UN Ambassador Bassam Sabbach on Thursday. The permit is valid for six months.
