Syrian Defense Forces block Israeli airstrikes
Damascus: Syrian military groups resisted the Israeli army’s rocket attack on the capital city of Damascus. The official Syrian Arab News Agency, citing unnamed military sources, said the attack on Damascus took place at dawn on Saturday.
The news agency said that Israel was carrying out airstrikes from Syria’s Golan region targeting some points near the city of Damascus and there were no casualties in the attack.
The news agency also pointed out that most of Israel’s missiles were shot down by the Syrian Army’s air defense teams. Government sources informed that the country has suffered material losses and the citizens are safe.
In recent weeks, Israeli forces have carried out airstrikes on Syria’s international airport. As a result, flight services were suspended for a few days.
And Israeli airstrikes targeting the Lebanese border town of Houla killed a woman and her 35-year-old son, media reported.
