T20 World Cup: Inox signs deal to telecast Indian matches live in theaters

New Delhi: Leading theater chain INOX Leisure Ltd is all set to screen all India’s matches live in cinema theaters during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup starting this month in Australia. Inox said in a statement that it has signed an agreement with the ICC in this regard.

INOX will screen all group matches played by Team India, starting with the first match against Pakistan on October 23. ‘Together we are bringing the thrill of giant screen experience and thunderous sound to audiences by screening cricket in theatres. We will convey the excitement and emotion of the World Cup through this. It will be a virtual treat for cricket lovers,” said Anand Vishal, Chief Operating Officer, Inox Leisure.

INOX will screen the group stage matches, semi-finals and finals from India’s first match against Pakistan on October 23 in its theatres. The match will be telecast live at INOX multiplexes in 25 cities across the country.

With 165 multiplexes and 705 screens in 74 cities, Inox has a total seating capacity of 1.57 lakh screens across India. Inox and PVR had announced a merger in March this year to create the largest multiplex chain in the country.
