T20 World Cup? Oh, not that, my purpose is above that; The Indian superstar revealed

With the ICC’s biggest global event of the year just days away, Indian superstar Shikhar Dhawan has opened up about his future in cricket. Dhawan said that his target is next year’s 50-over World Cup in India and he is working towards that.

Shikhar Dhawan is currently not part of India’s T20 format. An explosive T20 innings has been born from Gabbar’s bat for some time now. But Dhawan has been proving time and again that he is a tiger in the ODI format.

Dhawan is one of the few Indian players who has been a consistent performer in ODIs. Dhawan led the team in many ODI series for India.

It was Dhawan who led India to victory in the ODI series against Lanka and West Indies.

The player spoke about his future while remaining one and only in ODIs.

‘I am trying to impart my knowledge and playing style to the young players. Now I have a responsibility and I am enjoying it.

My goal is the World Cup in 2023 in India. All I do now is to be fully fit and mentally prepared for it,’ says Dhawan.

Meanwhile, the ODI series of South Africa’s tour of India begins on October 6. Dhawan is leading India. The responsibility on Dhawan’s shoulders is huge in a series where many senior players are being rested.

The Indian team is preparing for the ODI series with the confidence of winning the T20 series. India’s aim is to win this series as Dhawan’s habit and clean swap.
