Tabaski: Louga “sufficiently supplied” with onions and potatoes

Louga, Jul 7 (APS) – The markets of Louga are “sufficiently supplied” with onions and potatoes, 72 hours before the celebration of the Tabaski festival in Senegal, reassured, Thursday, the head of the regional service of the trade, Mady Danfakha.

“In total, 92.550 tons of potatoes and 134.175 tons of onions were listed on Thursday in the Lougat markets,” said Mr. Danfakha during an interview with APS.

According to him, the market is sufficiently supplied with stocks of onions and potatoes to cover the needs of the populations for the Tabaski festival.

However, he noted “tension and price increases compared to the past few weeks”.

Retail prices, he said, vary between 550 and 700 CFA francs for potatoes and between 450 and 500 CFA francs for onions, depending on the locality and the quality of the products.

“The semi-wholesale price of a bag of potatoes is sold between 12,250 and 15,000 FCFA and between 9,000 and 10,000 FCFA for the onion”, indicated Mady Danfakha.
