Digital agency Dept has initiated a comprehensive overhaul of its global content studio, a 500-person operation, in partnership with Adobe. The restructuring centers on integrating Adobe’s enterprise software suite – including GenStudio, Workfront and Frame.io – alongside Adobe Firefly’s artificial intelligence tools.
The move aims to address the increasing demands placed on marketing teams to produce content at scale, particularly as consumer attention becomes more fragmented and brands seek to engage audiences across multiple languages and platforms. Dept intends to automate portions of the content production and review processes through the Adobe and Firefly integration.
According to Adobe, GenStudio for Performance Marketing is designed to enable teams to create on-brand marketing content efficiently. The platform leverages generative AI to drive personalized campaigns. The agency is as well incorporating its own proprietary systems, such as the Lightspeed engine and automated quality control measures, to support large-scale content creation globally.
Adobe’s GenStudio is positioned as an end-to-end solution for creative automation, powered by generative AI. A webinar hosted by Adobe in January 2025 highlighted the platform’s ability to scale on-brand content creation, with applications spanning departments including Digital Commerce, IT, and Marketing.
The partnership with Adobe also reflects a broader industry trend toward utilizing AI to enhance marketing ROI. Adobe has emphasized the potential of GenStudio to increase return on investment, referencing principles from the US Department of Labor in its messaging. The company offers a sandbox environment for GenStudio for Performance Marketing, catering to various departments within organizations, including IT security and advertising.
DEPT® hosted an exclusive lunch to discuss the implementation of Adobe GenStudio, signaling the agency’s commitment to the new workflow. The integration of Adobe’s tools and Dept’s internal systems is intended to streamline content creation and maintain brand consistency across a wide range of marketing materials.
