CEOs FOR FUTURE welcomes tailwinds for decarbonization and positions itself with other economic initiatives to phase out fossil fuels

Vienna (OTS) – COP28 sends a signal to phase out fossil fuels in the energy system. “We would have liked the signal for a fossil fuel phase-out to be a little clearer, but the decisions of COP28 lay cornerstones for implementation this decade.”shows up CEOs FOR FUTURE board member Christiane Brunner pleased with the results in Dubai.

More and more countries are opting to phase out fossil fuels. In addition, renewable energy capacities are to be tripled globally and energy efficiency is to be doubled. “This is an investment program with diverse economic opportunities. When you see how many companies and corporate initiatives were present at the COP, it is clear that companies from all parts of the world are committed to decarbonization. This motivates us to consistently pursue our path.”so Brunnerwhich was itself at COP28 at the beginning of December.

CEOs FOR FUTURE, together with 28 other European business initiatives, campaigned for a strong COP28 result with a clear signal for the phase-out of fossil fuels. “We see the energy transition and decarbonization as a necessity for our economic success and as an opportunity. The resolutions of COP28 provide momentum for this.”explained Brunner finally.
