Kochi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has submitted a progress report in the case of assault on the actress. The prosecution submitted its report stating that further investigation was at an early stage and that there was no circumstance to hand over the full report.
Dileep’s lawyer asked the court to provide a copy of the report submitted by the prosecution and to hand over the digital evidence in the possession of the investigating officer. But the prosecution opposed both these demands.
The prosecution argued that the defendant in the case might not request the report and might not provide it. Further, the prosecution said that only the progress report of the investigation was submitted to the court. The prosecution also rejected the counter-argument that the digital evidence in the possession of the investigating officer may have been falsified. The prosecution said there was no evidence of forgery and that all digital evidence, including footage, was secure. Dileep’s two petitions will be heard on January 25. The court on January 22 allowed four new witnesses to testify in the case.

Kochi: Director Balachandra Kumar has said that the ‘VIP’ who visited actor Dileep’s house directly called a minister and asked him to keep DGP B Sandhya out of the investigation into the case of torturing the actress. Balachandra Kumar also quoted the VIP as saying, “We will decide what to do in the case where the chargesheet has been filed.”
Balachandra Kumar may reveal who the VIP is in his secret statement before the magistrate today. He is the sixth accused in the FIR to be involved in a conspiracy by VIPs to assassinate investigating officers.
Meanwhile, Balachandra Kumar was not ready to let go of the suspense surrounding this VIP yesterday either. On the day that Balachandrakumar was said to have come to Dileep’s house for a movie discussion, the investigation team had shown Balachandrakumar the footage of those who had come to Dileep’s house in Aluva. There are indications that Balachandra Kumar has identified the VIP.

Meanwhile, the probe team will question Sunil Kumar (Pulsar Suni), the first accused in the case, in jail in the wake of Balachandra Kumar’s revelations. Balachandra Kumar revealed that he saw Suni at Dileep’s house. According to a phone recording, Suni had seen Balachandra Kumar at Dileep’s house and hotel. Following this, it was decided to approach the trial court for permission to question Suni.
State Women’s Commission chairperson P Sathi Devi has demanded a detailed probe into the latest revelations in the attack on the actress. Satidevi also said that matters including the perversion of witnesses should be investigated.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch DySP Baiju Paulus is leading the investigation into the attack on the actress. Dileep had lodged a complaint once morest Baiju Paul but was not removed from the probe team.
