Gebran Bassil: Why did he offer confidence in the Foreign Minister, as long as the decision is the decision of the Ministry of Interior?
He stressed that “this is because the appeal is political, and they do not target the rest of the ministers.”
In a statement following a session of confidence in Foreign Minister Abdullah Bouhabib, Bassil said that “the national movement was accused of being behind what happened in Australia.”
He pointed out that in 2022, we are not the ones who proposed the amendment to the electoral law, and we did not try to manipulate the deadlines.
He added, “Whoever tampers with the law and the deadlines in it, is responsible for any possible error that may have occurred.”
Bassil pointed out: “The Lebanese abroad are elected either at the embassy or residence, according to what the Ministry of Interior has approved, and what happened is that there is a partisan machine that registered people incorrectly, and the error did not come from the Ministry of Interior.”
He said: “Just as they flew the megacenter in Lebanon, they do so in Australia, in order to control people’s decisions.”
Basil concluded: “If there is a stupid person who has registered people in a wrong way, let him bear his responsibility, and no political party should bear this.”
Watch.. How the “Foreign Minister” responded to the European Commissioner regarding comparing Syria’s Aleppo to Ukraine’s Mariupol
Al-Marsad newspaper: Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan responded today, Saturday, to the European Commissioner, Josep Borrell, at the Doha Forum on the comparison between the Syrian cities of Aleppo and Ukraine’s Mariupol.
Borrell explained the suffering of the Ukrainian city of Mariupol and asserted that it is like Aleppo to Europe (in reference to the destruction of the two cities in the war), to which the “Foreign Minister” replied: “Well, Aleppo is Aleppo for us.”
The “European Commissioner” commented, “But we Europeans are not the dawn of Aleppo,” to be met by Prince Faisal bin Farhan with a smile: “No, not you.. But the international community’s interaction with the two crises was different.”
The “foreign minister” explained that the best way to deal with this crisis is to strengthen dialogue between the two parties to reach a political solution, end the suffering of civilians, and stop the conflict.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan: The European Commissioner mentioned that the Ukrainian Mariupol is Aleppo for Europe. Well, Aleppo is Aleppo for us.
The European Commissioner responded provocatively: “But we Europeans are not from the dawn of Aleppo.” Prince Faisal: No (not you), but the interaction of the international community with the two crises was different. pic.twitter.com/oHRircpH58
