The United States has repatriated more than 92,000 people from more than 130 countries since President Joe Biden issued an executive order on June 4 significantly limiting asylum applications at the U.S. border. Mexico.

The decline is the lowest monthly figure since September 2020, it said.

According to CBP, the new immigration guidelines have led to “a significant increase in the number of migrants expelled and repatriated to their countries of origin, as well as a reduction in the number of people released (in the US) while awaiting removal proceedings.”

Following Biden’s latest move, US authorities have deported those who do not meet strict asylum standards when the number of daily arrests at the border exceeds 2,500 for an average of seven days.

CBP reported today that since June 5, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has expelled or repatriated more than 92,000 individuals, utilizing more than 300 international repatriation flights.

The government recalled that “individuals and families who do not have a legal basis to remain in the U.S. may be deported.”

For that month, Border Patrol recorded 56,408 apprehensions at ports of entry along the southwest border, up from 61,325 in June, including people who showed up at ports of entry without an appointment using the CBP One online application.

Notably, along the border, there were decreases in encounters of unaccompanied children (15%), single adults (27%), and family units (24%).
