Schnecksville, Pennsylvania – John Derwin Bradley, 19, will likely spend the remainder of his life incarcerated after receiving a 73-years-to-life sentence on Thursday for the murders of Rosalyn Siobal Glass and her daughter, Rianna Lynn Glass. The tragic events unfolded in North Catasauqua in September of 2023 and culminated in a harrowing series of crimes, including a high-speed car crash.

The Murders and Initial Investigation

Rosalyn Siobal Glass, 39, and her 16-year-old daughter, Rianna Lynn Glass, were found deceased at their North Catasauqua home. Investigators determined that bradley, who had previously been in a relationship with Rianna Glass, was responsible for their deaths, having inflicted fatal stab wounds upon both victims. The discovery followed an earlier incident involving Bradley and a 14-year-old girl.

Law Enforcement initially located Bradley and the 14-year-old after responding to a vehicle crash on Spring Valley Road in Lehigh County on September 14, 2023. Bradley had been ejected from the vehicle, and a knife with apparent bloodstains was recovered near the scene. The vehicle involved in the crash was later identified as belonging to Rosalyn Glass.

A Chain of Events Unravels

Following the crash, authorities attempted to contact rosalyn Glass at her residence but were initially unable to reach her. A subsequent welfare check, prompted by reports of an unconscious individual at the home, led to the grim discovery of the two bodies. Both victims exhibited injuries consistent with the knife found near Bradley after the vehicle crash.

According to authorities, Bradley murdered his former girlfriend and her mother before fleeing the scene with the 14-year-old. While driving on Spring Valley Road, he allegedly intentionally crashed the vehicle at a speed of approximately 109 mph. The 14-year-old passenger sustained severe injuries in the crash and is expected to require ongoing cognitive and physical therapy for the rest of her life.

Sentencing and Additional Charges

In addition to the life sentences for the murders – two consecutive terms of 36.5 years each – bradley received a further six to 20 years for the aggravated assault of the 14-year-old girl.This sentence will run concurrently with the sentences for the killings. Northampton County District Attorney Stephen Baratta emphasized the severity of Bradley’s actions in a statement.
