The Department of Health reported today, Sunday, that an 18-year-old girl and a 73-year-old man died between October 3 and 8 due to COVID-19.
The death of the young woman and the man, both from the metropolitan area, are two of the 23 deaths that have occurred during the month of October.
Health indicated that 3,191 deaths have occurred in total since the beginning of the pandemic.
On the other hand, Health indicated that there are 106 adults, 12 pediatric patients, 34 adults in intensive care and 24 adults with a ventilator for a total of 118 people hospitalized for the virus.
In addition, the Department of Health showed that the COVID-19 positivity rate on the Island increased to 3.45%.
The regions of Fajardo, Arecibo, Guayanilla and Adjuntas are the ones with the greatest positivity.
Salud also reported that there are 2,374,215 people vaccinated with the first dose and of the people vaccinated with the first dose, 2,267,702 completed their vaccination with the second dose. Both figures include people who used the Moderna and Pfizer vaccine.
For their part, there are 130,334 with the one-dose Janssen vaccine.
