Montgomery-Area High School Athletes Shine in Recent Competitions

The week of October 20th through the 24th, 2025, witnessed a flurry of impressive athletic achievements from high school students across the Montgomery, Alabama region.Athletes demonstrated skill and determination in Football, Flag Football, and Volleyball, highlighting their dedication and teamwork.

Football Standouts

Friday’s football games featured several notable performances. Deshawn Hall of Prattville showcased his receiving prowess, securing seven passes for an impressive 125 yards, despite his team’s loss to Thompson. will McKay, also from Prattville, completed 16 of 28 passes for 169 yards and a touchdown. Trisitin Blackmon contributed 68 rushing yards and a touchdown on 24 carries, while Damien Dickerson made a significant impact on defense with an interception, a pass deflection, and a tackle for a loss.

Montgomery Academy celebrated a victory over Alabama Christian Academy, fueled by outstanding individual efforts. Reid McBride excelled at quarterback, completing 12 of 17 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns, and adding 73 rushing yards on four attempts. Jarrett Friendly caught six passes for 109 yards and a touchdown, while Braden Gordon dominated on the ground with 97 rushing yards and three touchdowns, and also three catches for 43 yards and another touchdown. Ali nelson added to the offensive surge with 135 rushing yards and a touchdown, along with a receiving touchdown.

Flag Football Highlights

in Flag Football action on Tuesday, October 21st, Montgomery Catholic’s Hayden Fitts led his team to victory over Trinity Presbyterian, throwing for 67 yards and a touchdown on 5 of 13 passes, while also rushing for 44 yards and two touchdowns. He also secured an interception on defense. Haley Ishman contributed three receptions for 28 yards and a touchdown, adding another interception defensively.Addi Little and Maggie McNeely each recorded an interception as well.

Prattville also secured a win against hoover, with Abigail Kelley completing 15 of 22 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Kacey Dunn was a dual threat, rushing for 51 yards and a touchdown, while also making five receptions for 38 yards and two touchdowns. Lanieya Page added to the offense with five receptions for 37 yards and two rushing yards, and secured two interceptions on defense.

Volleyball Action

Montgomery Academy’s Volleyball team impressed at the South Super Regional tournament. Bennett Britt recorded 35 kills, 10 digs, two blocks, and an ace.Morgan Springer contributed 28 kills, four aces, and two blocks.Kaci armistead excelled in defensive plays, with 37 digs, eight aces, and five assists. Rehmat Sidhu controlled the court with 75 assists, 24 digs, and three aces.
