A Texas Deathmatch between MJF and “Hangman” Adam Page will headline All Elite Wrestling’s Revolution pay-per-view on March 15, following a chaotic series of events on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Denver, Colorado.
The stipulation for the AEW World Championship bout was determined after a coin flip orchestrated by MJF was disputed by Page, who claimed the coin was rigged. AEW President Tony Khan subsequently overruled the initial outcome, confirming the more brutal Texas Deathmatch format.
The match carries significant stakes for Page, who will be barred from future AEW World Championship opportunities should he lose. This stipulation echoes a similar career-altering clause previously used in a championship match involving Cody Rhodes, according to historical AEW precedent.
Elsewhere on Dynamite, Brody King of the House of Black challenged Swerve Strickland to a match at Revolution following his victory over Mark Davis. Bandido also inserted himself into the equation, leading to a planned confrontation with Andrade El Idolo at the pay-per-view.
Strickland himself had earlier delivered a statement from the top of the announce table, declaring himself the most dangerous man in AEW and asserting his intention to pursue another world title shot. This followed a dominant victory over Kenny Omega last week, which also included a post-match attack on his opponent. Strickland’s actions position him as a potential spoiler in the championship picture, with some speculating he could interfere in the MJF-Page match.
In other action, Jon Moxley defeated El Clon in an AEW Continental Championship eliminator match. Moxley is scheduled to defend the title against Konosuke Takeshita at Revolution, with the match having no time limit, a condition Moxley requested to avenge previous losses to Takeshita.
The AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships remained with The Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron) after they won by disqualification against Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford. Ford sustained an injury during the match, the extent of which has not been disclosed.
A six-man tag team match saw Jack Perry, The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) and The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz) defeat The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun) in a “Mile High Madness” match, a chaotic contest similar to Anarchy in the Arena.
Kyle Fletcher also issued a warning to Tommaso Ciampa regarding a potential future AEW TNT Championship match, while Kazuchika Okada proposed a tag team match with Fletcher on Collision, which Fletcher accepted.
AEW Revolution will take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, marking the second consecutive year the event has been held at the venue. The event will be available on PPV, HBO Max, and Prime Video.
