TOKYO – Spike Chunsoft’s upcoming title, “No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: Teh Somnium Files,” is set to incorporate mouse mode support on the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, the company announced Wednesday. The game, the third installment in the “AI: The Somnium Files” series, continues the detective-style gameplay that has captivated fans.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version, slated for release on July 25, 2025, as a Game-Key Card release, will feature enhanced graphics and faster loading times, along with the newly integrated mouse control scheme.
While details on the exact implementation of mouse mode remain scarce, speculation abounds regarding its potential use in puzzle-solving, dialog selection, and character interaction. The move marks a meaningful step toward expanding control options on the new console.
Alongside the proclamation, Spike Chunsoft released a story trailer, showcasing familiar faces from the series, like protagonist Kaname Date, his AI-Ball companion Aiba, and Mizuki. The trailer also introduces Hina, a newcomer to the series, against a backdrop of intrigue, including Iris’s kidnapping and forced participation in an escape game.
The storyline promises to maintain the series’ signature blend of mystery and quirky narrative elements, a hallmark established by Zero Escape creator Kotaro Uchikoshi, who serves as scenario supervisor. The game also comes from Japanese designer kazutaka Kodaka, known for the Danganronpa series.
