On the regulatory front, India seeks to offer a balanced approach, a middle ground between the stringent regulations of Europe and the more state-controlled environments of China. The nation plans to champion a voluntary “frontier AI code of conduct,” inspired by the Seoul pledge but with enhanced enforceability. Key tenets include the public disclosure of external red team results within 90 days, openness on compute usage that crosses a critical line, and the establishment of an accident hotline. this voluntary yet specific framework aims to guide responsible AI development without stifling innovation.
