Takashi Murakami and the new frontiers of contemporary art

Arranged on the sidewalk, at the entrance to the Broad Museum in Los Angeles, the barcodes challenge. A few passers-by stop, they take out their mobile phones, scan, go into raptures: multicolored flowers appear a few meters from them, via their screen. These virtual daisies look alive. Cradled by the wind, they smile at those who observe them. Anyone familiar with the work of Takashi Murakami will recognize the visual signature of their author.
