Taken during pregnancy, the antiepileptic drug Topiramate suspected of increasing the risk of autism in children

The ANSM warned on June 29 of the risks of Topiramate which, taken during pregnancy, multiplies by almost 3 the risk of autism spectrum disorders in children and by 3.5 the risk of intellectual disability. Florence is the mother of Anthony, 14, who has autism. She considers that this drug, which she has been taking since she was 15, is the cause of her son’s disorders.
