Doha: US-Afghan talks in the presence of Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani during the Diplomacy Forum in Antala, Turkey. The meeting took place during the International Diplomacy Forum in Turkey.

Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki and US Special Envoy to Afghanistan Thomas West also attended the talks. This is the first meeting between the United States and Afghanistan since the Taliban came to power in the presence of Qatar’s Foreign Minister.

The meeting assessed the current political situation in Afghanistan and measures to protect the human rights of its citizens.

Prior to the Taliban’s seizure of power in Afghanistan, the United States and the Taliban had held talks in Qatar to restore peace.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as part of the Diplomacy Forum.

In addition, the Foreign Minister met with leaders of various countries, including Iraqi Kurdistan President Nashirwan Barzani. The forum is attended by more than 2,000 delegates from around the world, including diplomats, politicians, businessmen and economists.
