Chennai: Tamil actor Chimpu’s father, actor and director T Rajender died in a car accident. The deceased has been identified as Munuswamy, 70. The driver of the car, Selvam, was arrested by the Pondicherry police and released on bail.
The accident took place on Elangovan Road in Thenampet, Chennai last Friday. Rajender and his family were in the car. The car went through the body of Munuswamy, who was trying to cross the road on his knees while making a bend in the road.
The car stopped following going some distance. Munuswamy was rushed to a government hospital in Royapettah. He succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday while undergoing treatment.
