Continuing the resource expansion schedule Tap to Paya Apple today announced the feature on Francewhere merchants can now use their iPhones to receive payments.

The service is available to payment platforms and developers in the country, who can integrate it into their iOS apps and offer it as a payment option for their business customers.

We’re excited to offer Tap to Pay on iPhone to merchants across France so they have a simple, secure and confidential way to accept contactless payments while benefiting from the power, security and usability of iPhone. With more than 90% of bank cards in France equipped with contactless technology and the growing adoption of contactless payments, merchants will be able to accept payments from their customers with a simple tap on their iPhone.

Among the companies that have already announced support for the new feature is Group BPCE (including the Popular Bankso Savings Banks and the Payplug) and financial Adyen, myPOS, Revolut, Sum Up, Viva Wallet e Worldline; According to Maçã, the service will soon also be supported by BNP Paribas, Cooperative Credit, Market Pay, Stancer e Stripe.

Additionally, starting today, Tap to Pay is also available in all Apple Stores in France and at various points of sale, including brand stores Christian Dior Couture (belonging to the LVMH group), Dyson, Rituals e Sézane. A L’Addition also integrated the resource into its system used by thousands of restaurants in the country. Finally, the Sephora (which also belongs to the LVMH group) will implement the functionality in the coming weeks in its French stores.

France is the eighth region to support Tap to Pay — which was made available in Brazil last September.
