Tassaduq Jilani’s resignation from chairing the inquiry commission regarding Judges’ letter

Justice (Retd) Tasadeq Jilani wrote a letter to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and apologized for chairing the inquiry commission on the allegations of Islamabad High Court judges. The federal cabinet had approved the formation of the inquiry commission on the letter of 6 judges of the Islamabad High Court and former Chief Justice of Pakistan Tasadeq Hussain Jilani…

In the letter, Tasadeq Jilani wrote that I thank the Prime Minister and the Cabinet for their trust, I also thank Justice Qazi Faiz Isa and Justice Mansoor Ali Shah.

The letter states that the contents of the letter written by the Supreme Judicial Council of 6 judges have been read, the letter of the judges has requested institutional consultation, the letter of the 6 judges does not fall under the category of Article 209.

It should be noted that the federal cabinet approved the formation of the inquiry commission on the letter of 6 judges of the Islamabad High Court and nominated the former Chief Justice of Pakistan Tasadeq Hussain Jilani as the head of the inquiry commission.

The cabinet members gave the authority to appoint the head of the commission to the prime minister and said that whoever you appoint as the head of the commission, we will support you.

It should be remembered that in the meeting between the Prime Minister and the Chief Justice of Pakistan, it was agreed to form an inquiry commission.

6 judges of the Islamabad High Court have written to the Supreme Judicial Council to draw their attention to the creation of voluntary benches for hearing cases in the High Court, District Judiciary and Special Courts on behalf of the government administrative bodies, especially the Secret Service. By drawing attention to the alleged shameful actions of selecting and appointing judges for hearings, harassment, intimidation and pressure on the judges, there is an institutional level policy and mechanism across the country to address this practice. Has requested to organize a convention of judges of the Supreme Court.

In the letter, Justice Shaukat Siddiqui has requested an investigation into the allegations leveled against Faiz Hameed and other officials.
