It is that time again! The colorful and vibrant Parade has settled in the Martin Luther Kingpark in Amsterdam South. This traveling festival not only brings theater, dance and music, but also a diversity of food and drinks.
Feast on the Parade in Amsterdam
You will find various food and drink stands on the Paradeterrein in the Martin Luther King Park. Whether you are looking for a refreshing drink, a hearty meal or a snack, there is something for everyone. We will explain a few highlights for you.
Aunt Naan: delicious Indian
An unmissable gem on the Paradeterrein is Tante Naan. Here you can enjoy Indian dishes such as four different curries. Don’t be alarmed if there is a long line in front of the stall, because in general you don’t have to wait long (and it’s definitely worth it). In the meantime, don’t forget to enjoy the cozy and colorful decoration of the food stand.
A must to order are the samosas. These are served with a refreshing lime sauce. A nice fact is that these samosas are specially imported from India by the owner of Tante Naan. There is also plenty of choice for vegans, with dishes such as Chana Masala (chickpea curry), Dal Tadka (yellow lentil curry) and various vegan snacks, including the samosas.

HotMamaHot: Asian street food
HotMamaHot is the place for Asian street food lovers. With dishes from different Asian countries you can fill your belly well here. A portion of Thai curry bitterballen with lemongrass-coriander mayonnaise is recommended as a tasty snack. These bitterballen are specially made for HotMamaHot, so try them out. Have you become thirsty by now and are you in for a unique experience? Then visit Hendrick’s Gin’s Cucumber Cabinet. Imagine yourself through a number of rooms with different types and sizes of cucumbers. And at the end of the adventure you can enjoy a refreshing Gin Tonic with infusions of rose and – you guessed it – cucumber.

De Parade in Amsterdam has much more to offer in the culinary field. At ‘Casa Nova’ you can enjoy flatbreads and at ‘The Juicys’ you can order a nice cocktail. For a savory appetite, go to ‘Zijpe Stijl’ for, for example, a daily snack or flammkuchen from the wood oven. Do you fancy something sweet? Fortunately, there is also plenty of choice for you. Are you going for an ice cream, a pancake, are you looking for your favorite sweets at the candy stall or make your own poffertjes at the poffertjes stall?
