Gerardo Tata Martino has everything on track to become the new coach of Inter Miami, Lionel Messi’s new team in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States.
The goal is for Martino to take office in July, but it depends on the work visa that the club is processing. The 60-year-old coach from Rosario will direct Messi for the third time in his career. He did it in Barcelona and the Argentine team.

Inter Miami is led on an interim basis by fellow Argentine Javier Morales after the dismissal of Phil Neville. Miami is in last place in the conference, with just 15 units in 17 games, seven points behind Charlotte, currently the last place in the playoffs to enter the playoffs.
Martino’s last experience as a coach was in the Mexico national team, and he parted ways after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. After Mexico, Boca went looking for him to replace Hugo Ibarra, but Tata said no to Xeneize.
For Martino it will be his second experience in MLS. Before coming to Inter Miami, he led Atlanta United between 2017 and 2018, won the MLS Cup and closed his cycle with a 61.71% effectiveness.
