On the way to Salzburg on Monday night, a Pinzgauer’s car caught fire shortly before the Katschberg tunnel on the Tauern motorway.
The emergency call must have come shortly before midnight because, according to the police report, the 41-year-old from Pinzgau was driving his car on the Tauernautobahn (A 10) from Villach towards Salzburg at around 11:58 p.m.
Near the town of Rauchkatsch in the municipality of Rennweg, the car, a van, began to burn for an unknown reason.
