Tax Savings for First-Time Homebuyers in Wallonia: Double Allowance up to €40,000

The Walloon government adopted in third reading, Thursday, the draft decree providing for doubling the tax allowance during the first acquisition of a property. The measure will apply from this summer.

From July, the allowance will be doubled, from 20,000 to 40,000 euros. For the new building acquired, up to 350,000 euros, this measure will make it possible to obtain a real tax advantage of up to 5,000 euros for a property subject to the normal registration rate of 12.5%. The more expensive goods will benefit from a decreasing advantage up to a value of 500,000 euros, value from which the current allowance remains unchanged.
