The Chinese company, “TCL” Electronics, launched its new phone, “TCL Stylus 5G”, which comes in the budget-friendly economy category, which is preferred by young people, although, as its name suggests, it includes a built-in stylus, a feature that is always present in leading phones. .
The new smartphone features a 6.81-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD + resolution (1080 x 2460 pixels) with an aspect ratio of 20.5: 9 and a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
The phone is powered by an acceptable MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor paired with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Moreover, the storage space can be expanded via a “microSD” card with a capacity of up to 2 TB.
The TCL Stylus 5G runs on Android 12 right out of the box. The phone features the “Nebo” application, with high-accuracy handwriting recognition. There’s also a quick access menu to pen features, such as drawing, taking notes, zooming in on the screen, and more.
The Stylus 5G – TCL’s first stylus phone – has a 4,000mAh battery that is claimed to last up to 15.3 hours of normal use, and it also supports 18W fast charging. The phone weighs about 213 grams.
The phone also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and also supports face unlock technology (FACE ID). On the underside, it features a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a pen slot. The smartphone supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.2 and NFC wireless connectivity.
For photography, the smartphone has a quad rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 5-megapixel wide-angle sensor, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
For selfies, the phone has a 13-megapixel front camera sensor located in a central perforated hole in the front. Each of these camera settings is capable of recording Full HD videos at 30 frames per second.
TCL launched the “Stylus 5G” phone in the United States initially, to reach other markets in the world at a later time. The company has set the price of the phone at $258. TCL offers a “Lunar Black” color option only for this phone.
Given the price of the phone, the TCL Stylus 5G is a cheaper alternative to other phones that support the use of a smart stylus, such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Moto G Stylus 5G.
