AHMEDABAD ∙ Team India’s ‘Best Fielder’ ceremony was something that caught the attention of fans throughout the World Cup. This was a program where the best Indian fielder and fielding coach were selected following the match. Through this, fielding coach T. Dileep’s goal was to increase the competitiveness in the field among the players. Despite losing the final match, India put up a good performance in the tournament.
BCCI released the video from the dressing room following the final. Coach Dileep says that India performed well in the match but the result was not in our favour. Superstar Virat Kohli was selected as the best fielder in the last match. The coach also said that Kohli’s movements on the field inspire everyone.
India lost to Australia by 6 wickets in the final. This is the Aussie’s sixth title. Travis Head’s century was crucial to the Aussies’ win. Virat Kohli scored 765 runs and was the star of the tournament. Mohammad Shami is the first wicket taker. Shami took 24 wickets.
