Teams set to make Holiday Bowl history

San Diego, California.- Coaches of the Oregon Ducks and North Carolina Tar Heels promise a great game at the Holiday Bowl, which will have Petco Park as the setting for the first time in its history.

This Tuesday Dan Lanning from Oregon and Mack Brown from North Carolina spoke to the media.

With Lanning excited about the game this Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., with the goal of closing the season with 10 wins, relying on quarterback Bo Nix who comes with more than 300 passing yards in the last game, and Chase Cota, receiver who accumulated 136 yards with a touchdown on 9 receptions.

“Delighted to go compete in this game. An opportunity to end the season with 10 wins. It’s going to be a good competition, great atmosphere. They were excited,” the coach said.

The San Diego Bowl has a long history of flashy games like in 2001, Mack Brown acknowledges that edition, when Applewhite won the game with the Texas Longhorns against Washington at Qualcomm Stadium.

“Holiday Bowl has been lucky to have great quarterbacks through the years, and you go back and watch some of the games. Major Applewhite’s 27-point comeback in the fourth quarter here (San Diego). So many times where quarterbacks have played after the game, and defenses have their hands full tomorrow with those two quarterbacks,” Brown said.

Starting at 10:00 in the morning, there will be a parade through the Convention Center, then the game will be held in the afternoon.
