PARIS – Letsile Tebogo won Olympic gold, Botswana’s first, in the 200m final. The sprinter from the South African country beat favorite Noah Lyles, who apparently had COVID-19, and was targeting a double after winning 100m gold. The three-time world champion from the United States must be content with a bronze medal at the Stade de France. Lyles’ compatriot Kenneth Bednarek won the silver medal Thursday. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone won the 400m hurdles, setting a world record.
