The unions confirm the incident which took place around 6 p.m. at Gembloux station. “It’s the drop of water that makes the vase overflow“, says Jacky Vurcke, driver and CGSLB delegate. “There are a lot of things that are wrong with the technical service and maintenance of the buses.“
The delegate also mentions the condition of his colleague. “The driver was still quite shocked because he had only been there for 2-3 years“, he said.
In total, 40 drivers are on strike.
The TEC confirms this movement. “Travel operated from this depot will be greatly reduced during the morning“, it says on its website. “The situation is normal for the other depots in Walloon Brabant.“
The disturbances concern lines 10, 11, 14, 17, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 34, 51, 52, 148 and even E6.
Among the municipalities of departure or destination of buses affected by these difficulties are the entities of Chastre, Chaumont-Gistoux, Gembloux, Genappe, La Hulpe, Lasne, Ottignies/Louvain-la-Neuve, Perwez, Ramillies, Rixensart, Villers- la-Ville, Walhain and Wavre.

Meeting with management
Management met with staff this morning. “The safety of our users and drivers is our first priority“, says Lionel Rouget, director of TEC Brabant-Wallon. “This obviously concerns me but it’s an isolated case, it doesn’t happen every week. To my knowledge, this has never happened in recent years.”
