A student from a college in Saint-Herblain in Loire-Atlantique is hospitalized at the Nantes University Hospital in worrying condition. He suffered a heavy fall following vagal discomfort following vaccination against papillomaviruses.
A teenager attending Saint-Dominique college in Saint-Herblain near Nantes suffered vagal discomfort on Thursday October 19, 2023 as the vaccination campaign against HPV viruses began within the establishment, according to the Agency Regional Health of Pays de la Loire.
In a press release the ARS specifies that the vagal discomfort occurred “within 15 minutes of vaccination“.
Still according to the press release “heavy fall of this student” following this discomfort led to the intervention of the firefighters.
This 5th grade student was transported to the Nantes University Hospital where he was taken care of.
“His state of health remains, at this stage, worrying.” indicates the Regional Health Agency.
Vagal discomfort around vaccination can occur due to the stress caused by vaccination, but it is unrelated to the vaccine product or to a quality defect in the vaccine.
