Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles retro hits are coming to consoles later this year

Teased at the start of the year, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : The Cowabunga Collection will be entitled to a physical edition on PS4, PS5, Xbox and Switch.

Created in 1984 in comics, the Ninja Turtles crossed the 1980s and 1990s as superstars. They are getting ready to meet the new generation, who has already been able to discover their universe at the cinema. ​

Tentative release date revealed

Announced last March, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : The Cowabunga Collection is a compilation gathering on the same disc 13 games featuring the famous fighters. Konami (who in turn launched into the NFT fashion) still hasn’t announced the release date, but publisher Just for Games has just revealed that the physical versions of the game will arrive on the last day of the year, namely December 31, 2022. The mention “tentative date” is still present, which means that it can change at any time. Especially since December 31 falls on a Saturday this year, a day which is not the most privileged for the release of new gaming products.

This Cowabunga Collection will allow fans to (re)discover Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Arcade), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time (Arcade), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game (NES), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project (NES), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (NES), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time (Super Nintendo), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (Super Nintendo), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (Sega Genesis), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (Sega Genesis), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of The Foot Clan (Game Boy), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Back From The Sewers (Game Boy) et Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Radical Rescue (Game Boy).

Classics reworked for modern consoles

In collaboration with Nickelodeon, 13 titles from the Konami archives, arcade games and their Japanese versions will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One / Series X and Nintendo Switch (who recently celebrated his fifth birthday). Great classics of the time, these different adaptations by Konami of New York heroes defined the standards of beat’em up and action games. To adapt these classics to modern gaming systems, the Japanese company has teamed up with development studio Digital Eclipse. A set of comfort-enhancing features has been designed, such as instant save, rewind or control modification. In addition, online play has also been added for some titles, in addition to local multiplayer for titles intended for this purpose.
