A young 17-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Winsum last night. The victim was found on the street in the Groningen village around 8:45 p.m. Assistance was no longer of any use.
Shortly after the stabbing, the police arrested a suspect. It concerns a 19-year-old man from the same municipality. Police say he is currently still in custody for questioning.
Acquaintances
The two knew each other, police say. RTV North spoke to a group of young people who say they are acquaintances of the victim. According to them, it is a relational issue.
The police are currently investigating the circumstances of the stabbing. That is why part of the neighborhood was cordoned off last night. Today the police are investigating the neighborhood, the spokesperson said. “We go by to ask if anyone has seen or heard anything.”
