Tekken 8: New gameplay trailer released

A new story and gameplay trailer for Tekken 8 was shown at the Game Awards 2022. There is no release date yet.

The nice thing about the Tekken story is that it’s pretty consistent. It’s actually about a fighting tournament, but in this one everyone is kind of hateful for each other. Especially in the Kazama/Mishima family, they still don’t seem to have the hay on the same stage. Jin is hateful for his father Kazuya Mishima, who in turn is hateful for his father Heihachi and his son and in all the hustle and bustle there is still Jin’s mother Jun, who somehow tries to steer everything in the right direction.

And actually, the story is pretty badass, because in Tekken 8, like the previous titles, it’s all about one thing: giving each other a good kick.

spanking in beautiful

Real golden times are ahead for fighting games fans. Tekken 8 comes with an incredibly beautiful look that stays true to the style of Tekken games so far. The colored hit explosions are still part of the experience, which will be expanded with many visual upgrades. The battle stages literally fly around the ears of the protagonists when they unpack their strongest moves. It’s also no wonder that Tekken 8 looks amazing as it’s being developed in Unreal Engine 5. You can already see their power at the moment in Fortnite admire.

The protagonists shown already confirm that some fan favorites are included. Currently confirmed are:

  • Jin Kazama
  • Kazuya Mishima
  • Paul Phoenix
  • King
  • Law
  • Lars
  • Jack-8
  • Jun Kazama

Above all, the announcement of Jun Kazama caused enthusiasm among the fans. Most recently she was playable in the spin-off Tekken Revolution, in a main game you have to go further back: In Tekken 2 she was last represented in the fighter roster.

When is Tekken 8 coming out?

Although Jun Kazama’s announcement caused a lot of joy, Tekken players were a little upset that no release date was announced with the new trailer either. It is currently speculated on the second half of 2023, but it could also be that Tekken 8 will not be released until 2024.

A release of Tekken 8 between April and July 2023 would also make sense. Then you would have enough space compared to the direct competitor Street Fighter 6, which will be released on June 2nd, 2023, and would appear before the next big EVO. Speaking of EVO: EVO Japan will take place at the end of March. Then you can expect more information about Tekken 8 at the very latest.
