Telegram founder warns: stay away from WhatsApp

The dispute between Telegram y WhatsApp it is filled with condiments every day, and to add more hair to the soup, the founder of the Russian messaging service, Pavel Durov, made an acid criticism of the Meta social network.

In a publicationDurov argued that the dangers of WhatsApp are greater than its benefits.

“Every year, we hear about a problem with WhatsApp that puts everything on its users’ devices at risk. Which means that there is almost certainly a new security flaw there already. Such problems are not incidental: they are planted backdoors. If a back door is discovered and it has to be removed, another is added, ”he began his speech.

Durov continued with his criticism, “it doesn’t matter if you are the richest person in the world: if you have WhatsApp installed on your phone, all your data from every app on your device is accessible, like Jeff Bezos discovered in 2020. This is why I deleted WhatsApp from my devices years ago. Having it installed creates a doorway to get into your phone.”

Finally, the founder of Telegram maintained that it is not a lobbying campaign to get out of WhatsApp and go to his social network.

“I’m not pressuring people to switch to Telegram here. With more than 700 million active users and more than 2 million registrations daily, Telegram does not need additional promotion. You can use any messaging app you want, but stay away from WhatsApp – it’s been a surveillance tool for 13 years now.”
