Another major update to the App Store arrived today. Telegram and — as always — the new version of the messenger is bringing a good number of new features for all users!
This time, we have the arrival of an energy saving mode, greater control of video playback speed, reading schedule in small groups, automatic sending of invitation links and other news.

energy saving mode
Animations and special effects certainly improve users’ visual experience in any application, but sometimes — such as low battery percentages or older devices — they end up doing more harm than good.
Knowing this, now Telegram has launched a Energy Saving Mode (already released in the app for macOS), which can be configured to activate automatically when the battery reaches a certain percentage — including the option to disable specific effects individually.
On iOS, you can also use the power settings to limit background updates, but Telegram recommends not doing this, as the app will be in the “Updating…” status much more frequently.
Refined speed control
Telegram allows adjust audio playback speed for a long time, but basically the same as most players on the web — with fixed speed options that don’t allow for fine tuning by the user.
That is until today’s update, as now by tapping and holding the “2x” button you can horizontally drag a slider to select any speed between 0.2x and 2.5x. The new option is also available by tapping the three-dot menu and selecting the “Playback Speed” option.
Group reading time
One of the (few) things in which Telegram still loses badly in relation to WhatsApp is when we talk about displaying message data, since the Meta app has rich details that include delivery and viewing times — both in groups, as well as individual conversations.
Gradually Telegram has been investing in this part of the app and now it will allow us to see the time to read messages in groups that have up to 100 members. Unfortunately, the feature does not yet apply to individual chats, although there is a double check indicating that a message has been read.
Automatic sending of invitation links
Now talking about one of the (many) features of Telegram that does not exist in the rival app: the possibility of preventing users from adding you to groups is a real hand in the wheel, but it can make life difficult for those who need to send you an invitation link by email. because of your privacy settings.
Therefore, it is now possible automatically send invite links for users who have disabled sending — an option that will appear whenever you select someone with this privacy setting to add to a group.
Obviously, the new feature is a double-edged sword, as this can end up filling users’ inboxes with unwanted links – if they have not requested to join the group in question.
New reactions and interactive (animated) emojis
The update also comes with ten new custom emoji packs for users of Telegram Premium.
There are also new interactive emojis, whose animations appear when they are sent individually in private conversations, as well as when any of them are used as a reaction.

- It is now possible to disable the display of stickers used recently (dynamic package order) at the top of the dashboard. stickers;
- developers of bots now have the option to fully translate the description and the “What this bot can?” for multiple languages;
- It is now possible to mark all chats in a folder as read with one tap;
