2023-08-28 17:28:24

Rail traffic was temporarily interrupted late Monday followingnoon on the high-speed line to the German border, not far from Boutersem, between Leuven and Hoegaarden, said Infrabel, the rail infrastructure manager. Delays are therefore to be feared on the line between Leuven and Liège.

The train driver made an emergency stop due to a suspected collision with a person. However, no body has yet been found.

As far as possible, rail traffic between Leuven and Liège was initially diverted by the classic rail line 36, for an additional lengthened journey time of 15 to 20 minutes. However, three quarters of an hour following the incident, traffic was able to resume on the affected section.
