This Friday the tenth edition of the International Book Fair, “Marcelo Martín Berbel”, begins in Neuquén, which will extend until Sunday, September 17. On this occasion, the meeting will focus on the 40 years of Argentine democracy and with an agenda that will include more than 100 book presentations and workshops, between regional and national authors.

The fair can be visited from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. with free entry. Access to the activities is also free until the capacity of the place is reached.
In this edition, the presence of Guillermo Saccomano, Cecilia Ce, Dolores Reyes, who will present “Miseria”; Julián López for his book “The infinitesimal forest”; María O’Donnell and Felipe Pigna, who will arrive with his latest book, the very interesting “Los Güemes”, among other authors and titles.
Also, this weekend Matías de Rioja presents his novel “The fish are scared””, the publishing house Tanta Ceniza presents its collection “Piel de las arenas” and Germán Gorosito will do the same with his recent book “Rock of Patagonia”among other activities of regional authors and publishers.
The fair will occupy an area of ​​1,200 square meters distributed in three tents that will be called “Fervor de Buenos Aires”, “The Little Prince” and “Hopscotch”in addition to the facilities of the Neuquén National Museum of Fine Arts where the main presentations will be held: the Marcelo Berbel Auditorium and the Nano Balbo Auditorium, teacher, educator and survivor of the last military dictatorship, who died last February.
The event will have 84 stands, of which 42 will be dedicated to publishers, writers and bookstores in the region.


Neuquén Book Fair: this weekend

This Friday, the presence of Guillermo Saccomanno, who will present the book “Tales gathered”, at 7 p.m., in the MNBA Neuquén auditorium; while tomorrow, Saturday, an entertaining meeting is expected with at the sexologist Cecilia Cewho will give a talk on “Writing, the creative process and sex.”
Also tomorrow, la bookfluencer Malena Hehn will present his book “Always fueste tú”, published by V&R Editoras for the youngest audience.
The first weekend will end with the presentation of Los Güemes, by renowned historian Felipe Pigna, and the doctor Facundo Pereyra will address problems of the body with his latest book “Life after the reset”.


Neuquén Book Fair: how it continues

One of the most prominent figures of the fair will be the writer Dolores Reyes, who after her first novel “Cometierra”, published in 2019, will present her book Miseria, on Saturday the 16th.
Additionally, that day, journalist María O’Donnell will arrive at the fair with the book “Born y Quieto. “The secret negotiation between the tycoon and the Montonero.”
While on Sunday the 17th, the fair will culminate its tenth edition with the presentation of the book by journalist and writer Patricio Zunini, “Borges in the library”; from the novel “The infinitesimal forest”, by Julián López; and “The Dragon’s Hunger”, by Agustín Barletti.
The Secretary of Culture, Training and Employment of the capital municipality, María Pasqualini, said that they expect to receive a large number of people, since the fair became a highly anticipated event for citizens to which “last year about 350 thousand people attended ”.
The official highlighted that there will be a large number of activities and exclusive talks for school visits. “Both everything programmed for the schools and for the teaching days had a great impact; It was with prior registration and the places were filled in less than two days,” she explained.


Children’s space

The municipality published that the children’s space will be enabled every day from 5 to 9 p.m. with a recreational proposal dedicated to “The Little Prince.” Activities include free drawing and the production of drawings will be exhibited on the “Artist’s Wall.”
For boys and girls aged five and over, the “Sips of Reading” activity will be carried out, where they are invited to draw a drawing or write the name of their favorite story to recommend to another child.


Opening of the Fair

This Friday, at 2 p.m., Mayor Mariano Gaido will be in charge of cutting the inaugural ribbons and from that moment on, neighbors will be able to begin visiting it. The fair will be open to the public from 2 to 10 p.m.
Pasqualini anticipated that there will be ten talks and conferences per day and that admission is subject to the capacity of each of the auditoriums. Those who wish to attend must appear at the door at the time previously published on the grid.
