Dutch coach Eric Ten Hag considered that the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo and other players left Old Trafford before the end of the friendly match against Rayo Vallecano of Spain on Sunday “unacceptable”.
After losing against Atletico Madrid 0-1 in Oslo last Saturday, Manchester United concluded the pre-season with a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford the next day.
Ronaldo participated in the first half of the match in his first appearance since the end of last season, after he missed the preparatory round in Thailand and Australia for “family reasons”. Ten Hag did not speak to the media after the match, but on Wednesday he expressed his displeasure in an interview with the “Viaplay” platform.
In this regard, he said, “Many (including Ronaldo) have left for their homes. This is not acceptable to everyone.”
“I tell them that it is not acceptable, that we are a team, one group and that you have to stay until the end.”
Ten Hag will take over his first official interest in the opening stage of the Premier League on Sunday against its guest, Brighton.
